Donalds reduces Trump’s prominence on campaign website

Florida gubernatorial candidate Byron Donalds has reduced the prominence of President Donald Trump on his campaign website, removing several prominent references to Trump’s endorsement while continuing to display it elsewhere on the site. An archived version of the homepage featured a “Trump-endorsed” banner, a button encouraging donations to the Trump-endorsed candidate and a section quoting Trump’s endorsement. It also showed a photo of Trump with Donalds and his wife, Erika Donalds. The updated homepage no longer includes those elements. Trump’s endorsement remains in a rotating banner alongside endorsements from other public figures and on a separate endorsements page. The campaign’s agenda page has also been reordered. “Enact the Trump Agenda,” previously listed first, is no longer at the top; affordability now leads the page. A website-tracking service counted at least eight Trump references removed from the homepage, though the endorsement remains available elsewhere. Campaign spokesperson Gates McGavick said the site reflects Donalds’s focus on affordability, insurance costs and government transparency. McGavick also said Donalds remains proud of Trump’s endorsement.
