Diamond Necklace Stolen From Vienna Museum in Daytime Heist

A 200-carat platinum and diamond necklace valued at approximately $4 million was stolen from a Vienna museum on Thursday in a brazen daytime heist, prompting a police manhunt for two suspects. The theft occurred at the Museum of Applied Arts (MAK) during opening hours, with authorities releasing security camera images of the unmasked men. According to police, the two suspects purchased tickets to enter the museum before using a hammer to shatter a glass display case containing the necklace. The piece, encrusted with 673 diamonds, was part of a jewelry exhibition featuring works by the French luxury brand Van Cleef & Arpels.
