DHS Mr Singh Self-Deport Ad Draws Racism Backlash
The US Department of Homeland Security is facing criticism over an AI-generated, Transformers-themed advertisement posted on X that addressed a brown-bearded man as Mr Singh, telling him to get off American roads and self-deport. The post, published on the department's official account on September 9, 2026, was part of a campaign against unlicensed commercial drivers and the administration's broader push encouraging undocumented immigrants to leave the United States voluntarily. The poster, styled like a movie parody titled Transformers Age of Deportations, featured an Optimus Prime-style robot wearing a DHS arm patch confronting the man, with the tagline Get off our roads, you dont know how to drive, Mr Singh. A related video showed Megatron, the franchise's antagonist, negotiating the release of truck drivers Harjinder Singh, Rajinder Kumar, Bekzhan Beishekeev, Akhror Bozorov and Jasveer Singh, described as having been involved in road accidents and other crimes. The department also shared a hotline for reporting illegal aliens and commercial driver's license fraud. Sikh and Hindu advocacy groups condemned the messaging as racist and discriminatory.
