Derek Thomas Files Objection in Rumer Willis Custody Dispute

Derek Richard Thomas has filed a legal objection accusing his ex-partner, actress Rumer Willis, of deliberately blocking his access to their three-year-old daughter, Louetta. The filing, submitted in Los Angeles Superior Court on August 27, 2026, requests that a judge uphold the existing custody orders from June and address Willis's recent move to Nashville with their child. In his declaration, Thomas alleges Willis "has done everything in her power to interfere, block and frustrate" his relationship with Louetta. He states he has always been a capable and devoted father and rejects Willis's claims of drug abuse and endangerment. Thomas contends that Willis has repeatedly frustrated his visitation by changing locations and schedules, and he claims she treated court-ordered supervision as a bargaining chip. He asserts she offered to eliminate the need for a monitor if he agreed to her choice of chaperone for his upcoming wedding in October. Thomas also argues Willis has not followed the June order requiring mutual consent for travel and school enrollment, stating he did not agree to the move to Nashville.
