Delhi Metro starts early on Sunday for BRICS Summit and exams

The Delhi Metro will begin services at 6 a.m. on Sunday, September 13, two hours earlier than the usual Sunday schedule on some lines, to help students and commuters navigate traffic restrictions for the BRICS Summit. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation announced the early start on Friday, September 11, stating it would facilitate travel for candidates appearing for the NDA and CDS examinations and for the general public amid summit-related road closures. The decision followed a request from a CDS aspirant to the Delhi Traffic Police, who then coordinated with the DMRC. The early services will apply to all Metro corridors. Normally, services on the Pink, Magenta, and Grey lines begin at 7 a.m. on Sundays. The BRICS Summit is scheduled for September 12 and 13 in the national capital. In preparation, Delhi Police have deployed approximately 15,000 personnel, 200 paramilitary companies, and over 500 CCTV cameras across the city. The Delhi Traffic Police issued an advisory for September 11 to 13, detailing road restrictions, diversions, and recommended routes for travel to airports and railway stations.
