Delhi Govt Offices Close Sept 11 for BRICS Summit
Central government offices in Delhi and New Delhi will close on Friday, September 11, 2026, as the national capital prepares to host the 18th BRICS Leaders Summit. The Delhi government has also declared a holiday for its offices, autonomous bodies, and public sector undertakings on the same day. The closure, announced via an official memorandum from the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, is a measure to facilitate the extensive logistical arrangements, heightened security, and traffic management required for the international gathering. The BRICS Business Forum and the Leaders Summit are scheduled to take place at Bharat Mandapam from September 11 to 13, 2026. Leaders from approximately 30 BRICS member and partner countries, along with heads of international organizations and business representatives, are expected to attend the summit. The decision to close government offices on September 11, a Friday, combined with the weekend of September 12 and 13, will provide central government employees with a three-day break.
