Delhi electoral revision flags 33 lakh voters including Kejriwal and Gupta

Delhi's electoral roll revision has flagged 33.1 lakh voters for discrepancies, including prominent political figures, as part of a Special Intensive Revision exercise that has significantly reduced the draft voter list. The notices, issued by the Delhi Chief Electoral Officer, affect approximately one-third of the 97,53,577 electors in the draft roll published on August 31, 2026. Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his family members are among those flagged under the 'No Mapping' category, meaning their details could not be linked to the previous SIR records. Current Chief Minister Rekha Gupta was also initially flagged, but election authorities later confirmed her electoral details were validated following physical verification by a booth-level officer. Her name is set to remain on the final electoral roll. The draft electoral roll shows a 32.8% decline from the 1,45,10,299 electors on the rolls as of June 30, 2026. Election officials stated that 13,79,785 electors could not be mapped with previous records, while 19,33,134 were flagged for logical discrepancies such as name mismatches or age gaps between family members.
