Delhi Draft Electoral Roll Excludes 47.7 Lakh Voters
Nearly 47.7 lakh voters in Delhi have been excluded from the draft electoral roll published on August 31, 2026, as part of a nationwide Special Intensive Revision exercise. The draft list, released by the Delhi Chief Electoral Officer, contains approximately 97.5 lakh electors, down from the previous total of 1.45 crore. The excluded names, accounting for roughly 33% of the electorate, have been categorized as "Absent, Shifted, Dead, Duplicate and Others," a group referred to as "uncollectable." The revision, which involved a door-to-door enumeration process that concluded on August 17, aimed to clean up the electoral rolls.
