Delhi CNG price rises to Rs 86.98/kg after Rs 3.89 hike
Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) announced a hike in compressed natural gas (CNG) prices in Delhi and adjoining cities, effective from 6 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2026. The price of CNG in Delhi will increase by Rs 3.89 per kilogram, rising from Rs 83.09 to Rs 86.98 per kg. The company attributed the increase to a significant surge in the cost of imported liquefied natural gas (LNG), which supplies a major portion of the gas used for CNG. In a statement, IGL said the revision was necessary due to elevated international LNG prices and their increasingly significant cost impact. The company stated that a calibrated adjustment was required to partially offset the rise in input gas costs.
