A cyclist is fighting for life in the hospital after being struck by a van in a suspected hit-and-run collision in the Scottish Borders. The 36-year-old man was riding on the A72 between Skirling and Biggar when he was hit by a Mercedes Sprinter-type vehicle at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 11, 2026.
