Cummins names Pujara toughest Indian opponent

Australian cricket captain Pat Cummins has named former India batter Cheteshwar Pujara as the toughest opponent he has faced from India, selecting him over prominent batters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Cummins made the assessment in an interview with Prime Video Sport AUNZ, where he also named his most difficult opponents from six other major cricketing nations. Cummins praised Pujara's patience and ability to absorb pressure, describing the former India No. 3 as "really hard to get out." He said Pujara was content to face numerous dot balls without offering a chance to the bowler, likening the experience to "death by a thousand paper cuts." Pujara was a significant challenge for Australia during India's Test series victories in 2018-19 and 2020-21, scoring 521 runs at an average of 74.42 in the 2018-19 series and earning Player of the Series honours. The Australian captain also revealed his toughest opponents from other countries.
