Culkin, Murphy, and Levy honor O'Hara at Emmys

Actors Macaulay Culkin, Annie Murphy, and Dan Levy delivered a joint tribute to the late Catherine O'Hara during the In Memoriam segment at the 2026 Emmy Awards on Monday night. The three actors, who portrayed O'Hara's on-screen children in different projects, gathered on stage to honor the revered comic performer, who died on January 30 at the age of 71. Culkin, who played O'Hara's son Kevin McCallister in the Home Alone films, became visibly emotional during his remarks. He referred to O'Hara as his "mama" and recalled her continued support decades after they worked together. "She always showed up when I asked her to, because that's Catherine," Culkin stated. "That's what she did. She showed up. And this is the best that we can do for her tonight." He also referenced the central plot of the Home Alone movies, where O'Hara's character famously forgets her son. "She may have forgotten me twice, but we will always remember her," Culkin said. Murphy and Levy, who played O'Hara's children Alexis and David Rose on the series Schitt's Creek, shared their own memories. Murphy described O'Hara's distinctive laugh as "a perpetual yes, and" that challenged others to join in her delight.
