Cue Clothing enters receivership with immediate sale process launched

Cue Clothing Co, the Australian fashion retailer behind the Cue and Veronika Maine brands, has entered receivership and voluntary administration, with receivers immediately launching a sale process to secure the future of the business. FTI Consulting was appointed as receivers and managers on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, while BDO was appointed as voluntary administrators on the same day. In a statement, FTI Consulting said that despite increased sales and other improvements across the group, these were insufficient to mitigate the impact of overhead costs currently in the business. The receivers will continue to trade the company while they assess restructuring options. A sale process seeking offers for the business as a going concern will commence immediately, aiming to secure the future of the brands, a pathway to profitability, and ongoing employment for staff. The company's latest accounts show revenue rose to A$103.2 million in fiscal 2025, up from A$98 million a year earlier, but it still recorded a A$5.1 million loss. The loss narrowed significantly from A$14.1 million in the prior year.
