Cruz Defends Title With Sixth-Round KO of Bravo

Isaac "Pitbull" Cruz defended his interim WBC super lightweight title with a sixth-round knockout of Nestor Bravo on Saturday night at Pechanga Arena in San Diego. The victory, Cruz's first of the year, came after a majority draw against Lamont Roach in December 2025. The fight was the main event of a Premier Boxing Champions card broadcast exclusively on DAZN. According to the California State Athletic Commission, Cruz earned a guaranteed purse of $600,000, while Bravo received $175,000. The event was not a pay-per-view broadcast. Following his win, Cruz called for future bouts with either Dalton Smith, the WBC super lightweight champion, or Ryan Garcia, the WBC welterweight champion. "I think this performance showed everybody and turned their heads," Cruz said in his post-fight interview. "I want to fight Dalton Smith or the winner of that fight, but I think that everyone here saw what I can do. Hey Ryan Garcia, I'm here, my next fight is for you!" A previously scheduled co-main event, a middleweight title fight between champion Ramos and mandatory challenger Meiirim Nursultanov, was canceled after Ramos fell ill.
