Convicted Murderer Sentenced for Teen Abduction

A convicted murderer has been sentenced to life in prison for the abduction and sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl in Altrincham, Greater Manchester. Paul Sharpe, 56, must serve a minimum of eight years before being eligible for parole. The incident occurred on the evening of May 18, 2026, when Sharpe, who had previously served a life sentence for murder, targeted the teenager as she walked home. He approached her from behind, placed her in a chokehold, and threatened her with a knife before forcing her into his vehicle. Sharpe falsely told the girl her father owed money to someone, attempting to explain the abduction. During the harrowing eight-hour ordeal, Sharpe drove the girl to various isolated car parks across Greater Manchester and Cheshire. He restrained her wrists and ankles with neckties, forced her to drink alcohol, and sexually assaulted her. He also displayed a foot fetish, smelling her feet and placing new stockings and high-heeled shoes on her. The victim, fearing she would be raped and killed, demonstrated remarkable presence of mind by deliberately leaving strands of her hair and nasal mucus inside the car to provide DNA evidence.
