Coinbase Launches Tokenized U.S. Stocks on Base With Chainlink Pricing
Coinbase has launched tokenized shares of major U.S. companies on its Base network, integrating Chainlink's oracle infrastructure to provide the continuous pricing data necessary for these assets to function within decentralized finance applications. The rollout, which went live on August 24, 2026, allows eligible non-U.S. users to trade stocks such as Nvidia, Apple, Meta, and Alphabet around the clock on the blockchain. The tokenized stocks are issued as B20 tokens on Base, Coinbase's Ethereum layer-2 network. Each token represents a direct claim on an underlying share held in regulated custody with broker Alpaca under the supervision of the Abu Dhabi Global Market.
