Flavio Cobolli staged a remarkable comeback from two sets down to defeat Argentina's Francisco Comesana in a grueling five-set first-round match at the U.S. Open on Tuesday. The fifth-seeded Italian, who is also the recent French Open runner-up, prevailed 3-6, 2-6, 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 in a contest that lasted over four hours at Louis Armstrong Stadium in New York. The match began under a closed roof due to rain, which had already disrupted the tournament schedule.
