Clancy lawyer warns theorists of legal action

Published 8 September 2026

Patrick Clancy, through his attorney, has issued a warning of legal action against individuals and influencers promoting conspiracy theories that falsely implicate him in the deaths of his three children. The statement, released on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, asserts that a relentless and destructive defamation campaign has subjected Clancy and his family to real-life threats against his reputation, livelihood, and life. Howard Cooper, Clancy's lawyer, stated that the misinformation campaign has been launched and promoted by minor celebrities, influencers, and conspiracy theorists who are allegedly seeking to boost their social media profiles and profits by publishing falsehoods. These claims suggest Patrick Clancy was involved in the deaths of his young children, Cora, Dawson, and Callan, or that he manipulated his then-wife, Lindsay Clancy, into committing the acts. Law enforcement has been notified of the situation. The legal threats come in the wake of a mistrial declared on Friday, September 5, 2026, in Lindsay Clancy's murder trial.
