CINTAA Office Clash Leads to Police Complaint Ahead of Elections

A heated dispute at the Cine and TV Artistes Association (CINTAA) office in Mumbai escalated into a police intervention on September 11, just one day before the association's scheduled elections. The confrontation involved prominent actors and centered on allegations regarding the removal of official documents. Actress Upasana Singh filed a police complaint at the Versova police station, alleging that former CINTAA president Poonam Dhillon and former vice-president Padmini Kolhapure attempted to remove association documents and belongings from the office. Singh stated she was alerted by another actor who witnessed the activity and immediately called the police. She claimed the alleged removal followed concerns raised by a CINTAA member about irregularities in records, who had demanded a forensic investigation. In response, Poonam Dhillon and Padmini Kolhapure rejected the allegations. They stated the files were sensitive member KYC records being transferred to CINTAA's main registered office strictly for safekeeping. Dhillon also claimed the association's private data had been compromised or stolen.
