CHVRCHES Release New Single “Roses” and Announce UK Shows

CHVRCHES released “Roses” on September 22, marking the Glasgow trio’s return to new music with a track that Lauren Mayberry said reflects an effort to push the band in a different creative direction. The group also announced two intimate UK shows: in Glasgow on October 26 and in London on October 29, 2026. Tickets are being offered through a ballot, according to reports about the announcement. The release reunites Mayberry with bandmates Martin Doherty and Iain Cook after a period in which members pursued other projects. Mayberry released her solo album “Vicious Creature” in 2024, while Doherty worked on the project The Leaving. The band’s previous album, “Screen Violence,” came out in 2021. Reports differ on whether “Roses” is the first new CHVRCHES music in three or five years, and the band’s own comment refers specifically to its longest break between albums. Mayberry said the group wanted to avoid repeating earlier work when it began writing again. She described “Roses” as the band’s most coherent vision to date and said the members were excited to return.
