China and Russia have commenced their annual joint naval exercise, "Joint Sea-2026," in waters and airspace off the Chinese port city of Qingdao. The drills, which began on Monday, July 6, and are scheduled to run through July 13, will be followed by joint maritime patrols in unspecified areas of the Pacific Ocean.
