Chelsea are in talks to sign Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez, with the Argentina international having been offered to the club by his representatives. The 33-year-old is seeking a move away from Villa Park after the club signed Zion Suzuki from Parma to be their new first-choice goalkeeper. Martínez was not in Villa's squad for their opening Premier League defeat at Brighton on August 24. The potential transfer comes as Chelsea look to address a problematic goalkeeping position. Robert Sánchez started in goal for their 3-2 win over Fulham on August 25 but was at fault for both goals conceded.
