Celtic title disorder arrests reach 50 as new charges emerge

Police in Scotland have arrested and charged seven more people in connection with disorder following Celtic's Premiership title win on May 16, bringing the total number of arrests related to the day's events to 50. The latest charges are part of an ongoing investigation into violence and antisocial behaviour that erupted in Glasgow's Trongate area after the match. The seven newly charged individuals are six males, aged 17, 18, 33, 35, 43, and 45, and a 28-year-old woman. They face allegations including assault, possession of an offensive weapon, culpable and reckless conduct, and breach of the peace. All are scheduled to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court at a later date. The disorder in the Trongate area involved approximately 3,000 Celtic supporters who had gathered to celebrate the club's 3-1 victory over Hearts. During the disturbances, two police officers were seriously injured and three members of the public required hospital treatment. Police reported that missiles, including broken bottles, were thrown at officers while they were dealing with a separate medical emergency.
