CeeLo Green will perform Gnarls Barkley songs on the group’s announced North American tour without his musical partner, producer Danger Mouse, according to Green and tour promoter Live Nation. Updated promotional materials bill the dates as CeeLo Green performing Gnarls Barkley, clarifying that Danger Mouse will not appear on that leg. Green said in a social media post that Danger Mouse, whose real name is Brian Burton, would not perform and would be present “in spirit.” He described Burton as his producer and business partner and said the decision not to tour was Burton’s to make. The statements reflect Green’s account; the reports reviewed included no direct comment from Burton. Live Nation said the tour had always been planned as a CeeLo Green-led run and that Burton was not scheduled to participate. The promoter’s amended North American materials also identify Green as performing Gnarls Barkley. The clarification follows the initial announcement, which described the dates as the duo’s first tour in 18 years and used Gnarls Barkley billing. The North American itinerary is scheduled to begin November 5 in San Francisco and conclude November 28 in Chicago.
