Carson Daly Named Permanent Saturday Today Co-Anchor

Published 5 November 2026

Carson Daly will become a permanent co-anchor of Saturday Today on November 7, joining Laura Jarrett while continuing his weekday role on the morning program. He is also expected to remain host and executive producer of The Voice, according to reporting on the appointment. Daly announced the Saturday position during the November 5 Today broadcast. The Saturday team also includes feature anchor Joe Fryer and meteorologist Angie Lassman. NBC executive Libby Leist said Daly had been part of Today for 13 years and welcomed his addition to another day of the program. “I’m thrilled to add Saturday Today to my weekday morning schedule,” Daly said in a statement. He also said he was grateful and excited about the opportunity. Daly joked that his children had asked whether he would still make pancakes, and said he would make them for Jarrett, Fryer and Lassman instead. Daly has been temporarily co-hosting Saturday Today with Jarrett before the permanent appointment, but reports differ on when that interim arrangement began. One account places it in September; another says October. The reports agree that the Saturday role had been left vacant after Peter Alexander departed NBC in March...
