Carrot Top Released From Hospital, Recovering at Home

Comedian Scott Thompson, known as Carrot Top, has been released from the hospital and is recovering at home with his family, according to a report published September 26. His representative had said six days earlier that he was awake, breathing independently and improving while receiving hospital care. The exact timing of his discharge was not established in the reports, one of which still described him as hospitalized. Thompson was hospitalized after an incident at his Las Vegas home on September 18. A police report recounts that tour manager Daniel O’Leary told investigators Thompson was upset after learning of an article about a lawsuit accusing him of sexual misconduct. O’Leary said Thompson expressed concern about an unnamed woman and her daughter, then sent a one-word text, “Done,” before becoming unreachable. According to the report, O’Leary contacted the woman and asked her to check on Thompson. She later found him unconscious near the pool and called for help. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
