Carabao Cup draw sets Liverpool-Chelsea and Fleetwood-Arsenal ties
The draw for the fourth round of the Carabao Cup has produced headline ties, with Liverpool set to host Chelsea and League Two Fleetwood Town facing Premier League champions Arsenal. The matches are scheduled for the week commencing October 26, 2026. Liverpool will welcome Chelsea to Anfield in what is considered the standout fixture of the round. Chelsea secured their place by defeating Leeds United, while Liverpool advanced by beating Tottenham. The tie pits two Premier League rivals against each other in a high-profile clash. In a significant mismatch, Fleetwood Town, the lowest-ranked team remaining in the competition, will host Arsenal at Highbury. Fleetwood reached this stage for the first time in their history after a 1-0 victory over Sheffield United. Arsenal, who have not won the League Cup since 1992-93, progressed by defeating Ipswich Town 4-2. Fleetwood head coach Matt Lawlor described the draw as "amazing" and "the ultimate test" for his side. The draw also set up a conditional tie involving Brighton, who will face the winner of Manchester City vs. Norwich City.
