Published 26 August 2026

Camron Jones has been cast as Tupac Shakur and Lauren London will portray Snoop Dogg's mother, Beverly Tate, in the upcoming Universal Pictures biopic "Snoop." The film, which chronicles the rise of the iconic rapper and entertainment mogul, is scheduled for release on August 6, 2027. Jones, known for his role in Amazon Prime Video's "Panic," joins previously announced star Jonathan Daviss, who will play Snoop Dogg. Myles Bullock is set to portray Dr. Dre, the legendary producer who discovered Snoop and worked on his debut album "Doggystyle." The casting announcements were made by multiple outlets, with The Hollywood Reporter first reporting Jones's involvement and Deadline breaking the news of London's casting. The biopic, simply titled "Snoop," will trace the artist's journey from Calvin Broadus Jr. in Long Beach, California, to his emergence as a defining figure in 1990s hip-hop and pop culture. The film is being produced by Snoop Dogg himself, alongside Imagine Entertainment's Brian Grazer and Allan Mandelbaum, and Death Row Pictures president Sara Ramaker.
