Callaway and Good Good Golf apologize for violent ad backlash

Published 26 August 2026

Golf equipment manufacturer Callaway and content creator group Good Good Golf have issued apologies after a promotional video for a cobranded driver sparked widespread backlash for depicting violence against a woman. The commercial, released online last week, showed Good Good cofounder Garrett Clark shoving professional female golfer Alexis Miestowski to the ground and warning her, "Do not touch my new driver." The incident has prompted criticism from the PGA Tour and raised questions about corporate approval processes. The video, which was produced by Good Good Golf and approved by Callaway, was intended to promote a co-branded driver.
