Calgary to host first Canadian X Games in February 2027

Calgary will host the first-ever X Games in Canada, scheduled for February 19-21, 2027, at WinSport Canada Olympic Park. The event marks the second stop of the inaugural MoonPay X Games League (XGL) winter season, a new team-based competition format that adds a club championship to the traditional individual medal events. The three-day competition will feature skiing and snowboarding disciplines including big air, slopestyle, superpipe, and knuckle huck. It will also include live music performances from artists such as Steve Aoki and Levity. The XGL winter season consists of three stops, beginning in Aspen, Colorado, in January 2027, followed by Calgary, and concluding with a championship event in Ruka, Finland, in April. The new league structure introduces four co-ed clubs: XC Golden State, XC New York, XC Park City, and XC Whistler. Each club will have a roster of 10 athletes, five men and five women, selected through a draft scheduled for September 16, 2026, in Los Angeles. More than 180 skiers and snowboarders are eligible for the draft. Athletes will earn points for their clubs throughout the season, creating a championship race alongside the pursuit of individual medals.
