Brooks Wins Third Straight Tour Event at Trestles Pro

Canadian surfer Erin Brooks secured her third consecutive World Surf League Championship Tour victory at the Trestles Pro in California on September 18, 2026, defeating world No. 1 Gabriela Bryan in the women's final. The 19-year-old's win marks the first three-event winning streak on the tour since Stephanie Gilmore achieved the feat in 2008. Brooks posted a two-wave total of 13 to edge Bryan's 11.90 in the final at Lower Trestles. The victory caps a dramatic turnaround for Brooks, who had failed to advance past the second round in the first six events of her sophomore season. She has since won in Tahiti, Fiji, and now California. "The first part of the year was such a bummer, but this makes it worth it," Brooks said after her win. "So many hard heats just made me want to work even harder and now I've gotten to this point and I want to keep going." In the men's event, Brazil's Miguel Pupo claimed his second win of the season, defeating Japan's Kanoa Igarashi with a total of 14.77 to 14.40.
