British Trekker Found Dead After Fall in Pakistan

A British trekker has been found dead in Pakistan after disappearing during a descent from the Musa Ka Musalla mountain in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Alexander Harris, 30, from Birmingham, who also held Irish citizenship, went missing on September 2, 2026, while descending the mountain. Harris had begun the trek with a companion around 5:40 a.m. local time. The pair reached the summit, which stands at over 4,000 meters (13,000 feet), before commencing their descent. They became separated when Harris moved ahead of his companion by approximately 1.5 kilometers (1.2 miles). Heavy rain began to fall in the area shortly after, reducing visibility. Local authorities stated that Harris most probably slipped and fell. His body was later discovered on a forest path. An extensive search operation was launched, involving approximately 250 to 300 people, including police officers and volunteers. Teams searched the mountainous terrain on foot and utilized drones, though poor visibility hampered aerial operations. Search efforts continued through heavy rain, fog, and difficult terrain before Harris was located.
