British man fatally shot in Washington state homicide investigation

A 26-year-old British man from Manchester has been fatally shot in Washington state, prompting a homicide investigation by local authorities. The incident began when deputies were dispatched to a domestic disturbance at a home on the 23000 block of 156 Avenue SE at approximately 12:20 p.m. on August 22. Upon arrival, they secured the scene and discovered Lomas with fatal injuries. The King County Medical Examiner's Office later confirmed he died from multiple gunshot wounds. As of the latest reports, no arrests have been made, and the investigation remains active. The UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office stated it is supporting Lomas's family and is in contact with local authorities regarding the case. In the wake of the tragedy, Lomas's family has launched a fundraising campaign to cover the costs of repatriating his body to the United Kingdom.
