Brendan Allen submits Christian Leroy Duncan at UFC Vegas 122

Published 12 October 2026

Brendan Allen submitted Christian Leroy Duncan with a rear-naked choke at 2:46 of the fifth round at UFC Vegas 122, extending his winning streak to four. The middleweight main event took place Saturday at Meta Apex in Las Vegas, and the finish followed a competitive bout that went the distance into its final round. The submission came after Allen took Duncan down in the fifth and secured back control. Earlier, the fighters traded grappling exchanges and striking, while Duncan briefly gained top position. Duncan lost a point after an accidental eye poke in the second round. Referee Marc Goddard later said he had warned Duncan about outstretched fingers before the foul and explained that he deducted the point after it occurred. Allen’s teammate Belal Muhammad said after the fight that Allen had been dealing with a staph infection since Tuesday of fight week. Muhammad said Allen was taking antibiotics and had five days of treatment remaining when he posted about the illness. The account was attributed to Muhammad; the supplied reporting included no independent medical confirmation of Allen’s diagnosis or its severity.
