Brad Pitt returns to San Sebastián Film Festival with 'Heart of the Beast'

Brad Pitt will return to the San Sebastián Film Festival for the first time in 17 years to present the survival thriller "Heart of the Beast," which he stars in and produces. The actor and director David Ayer will attend the festival's 74th edition, scheduled from September 18 to 26, 2026, to promote the film, which will screen out of competition in the Official Selection. The announcement marks the first major star appearance confirmed for this year's event. In "Heart of the Beast," Pitt plays James Belmont, a retired Army Special Forces officer who survives a plane crash in the Alaskan wilderness. Stranded and far from civilization, he must navigate a harsh environment filled with threats like bears and wolves. He is not alone, however, as he is accompanied by Odin, a retired military working dog. The film explores their desperate journey to stay alive and find their way back to safety. The cast also includes Oscar winner J.K. Simmons and Anna Lambe. The project reunites Pitt and Ayer, who previously collaborated on the 2014 World War II film "Fury." Pitt serves as a producer alongside Olivia Hamilton, Marty Bowen, and Ayer.
