Bottomline Chainlink integrate blockchain payments

Published 5 September 2026

Bottomline, a major financial technology firm and a top-three provider of Swift services, has partnered with blockchain oracle network Chainlink to integrate blockchain-based settlement capabilities into its extensive payment infrastructure. The collaboration aims to enable over 600 client banking institutions to conduct cross-border and cross-chain transactions more efficiently. The partnership connects Bottomline's payment network, which processes more than $16 trillion annually, with public and private blockchains. This integration allows participating banks to leverage blockchain settlement rails while continuing to use their existing ISO 20022 messaging frameworks, the global standard for financial transaction information exchange. Chainlink's CrossChain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) will facilitate the transfer of tokenized assets between different blockchain networks, while its Chainlink Runtime Environment (CRE) will orchestrate the payment workflows, connecting traditional banking systems with blockchain infrastructure.
