Botner Says Flynn Repeatedly Spoke of Wanting Wife Dead

Alleigha Botner testified in Caleb Flynn’s Ohio murder trial that Flynn repeatedly said he wanted his wife, Ashley, dead and described thinking about ways to kill her. Prosecutors also presented messages they attributed to Flynn that included similar statements. Flynn has pleaded not guilty to charges including aggravated murder, and the testimony is part of the prosecution’s case, not a verdict. Botner told jurors she had an affair with Flynn for more than a year and that his comments about Ashley became increasingly disturbing. She said he told her, among other things, that he wished Ashley were gone and that he would kill her if he could avoid prison. Botner testified the remarks came at least monthly. Prosecutors showed jurors messages attributed to Flynn, including one from February 2025 that said he needed Ashley to die, cheat again or leave. The testimony also addressed the couple’s relationship shortly before Ashley’s death. Botner said she gave Flynn a deadline in January to leave his wife, then resumed contact with him on February 14. She testified that Flynn told her he was filing for divorce and that they met in person the next day.
