Bombay HC Orders CBI Probe Into Disha Salian Death

The Bombay High Court has ordered the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to register a First Information Report (FIR) and conduct a comprehensive investigation into the 2020 death of celebrity manager Disha Salian. The directive, issued on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, followed a petition by Salian's father, Satish Salian, who alleged foul play and a cover-up. The High Court stated that the Mumbai Police investigation into Salian's death had several "glaring discrepancies" and that the circumstances warranted a substantive inquiry into a cognizable offense. Disha Salian, who managed actor Sushant Singh Rajput, died on June 8, 2020, after falling from a residential building in Mumbai's Malad area. Her death occurred six days before Rajput was found dead in his Bandra residence. Satish Salian had initially accepted the police conclusion that his daughter died by suicide. However, he later approached the High Court in 2025, alleging that he had been misled and that his daughter was gang-raped and murdered, with influential individuals involved in a cover-up.
