Bologna Sacks Tedesco, Appoints Palladino After Four Matches

Bologna have sacked manager Domenico Tedesco after just four matches of the 2026-27 Serie A season and appointed Raffaele Palladino as his replacement on a three-year contract. The club announced the decision on Wednesday, September 16, following a winless start to the campaign that left the team in 16th place in the league table. Tedesco, who was appointed in June, oversaw a difficult opening period for the Rossoblu. The team collected only one point from a possible twelve, with a 2-2 draw against Sassuolo being their sole result. Defeats to Lazio, Atalanta, and most recently Napoli, where they lost 1-0 on Sunday, sealed the German-Italian coach's fate. His tenure lasted just 99 days from the time of his appointment. In a brief statement, the club thanked Tedesco for his professionalism and competence. The dismissal marks the second managerial change in Serie A already this season, following Fiorentina's decision to fire Fabio Grosso earlier in September. Palladino, 42, has been given a contract through June 2029. He arrives with recent top-flight experience, having led Atalanta for seven months during the previous season.
