Body of woman sought in officer's death found
Worcester Police Chief Paul Saucier announced Monday that investigators believe they have located the body of Karen Solomon, a prominent mental health advocate wanted as a suspect in the death of her husband, Worcester Police Officer Kurt Solomon. The discovery, made in a wooded area near 189 May Street, effectively ends a week-long manhunt and leads authorities to treat the case as a murder-suicide. The search began after Kurt Solomon, a 31-year veteran of the Worcester Police Department, was found dead inside the couple's Wildwood Avenue home just before 5:30 a.m. on August 18. Authorities said he was mortally injured with a sharp object.
