BMW Championship Starts with Top 50 in FedEx Cup Playoffs

The 2026 FedEx Cup Playoffs continue this week with the BMW Championship, the second of three postseason events, beginning Thursday at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis, Missouri. The tournament features the top 50 players in the FedEx Cup standings competing over four rounds with no cut, as only the top 30 will advance to the season-ending Tour Championship at East Lake. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler enters as the overwhelming favorite following his dominant eight-shot victory at last week's FedEx St. Jude Championship. That win, his second of the season and the 21st of his PGA Tour career, extended his massive lead in the FedEx Cup standings to more than 1,400 points over second-place Matt Fitzpatrick. Scheffler, who won the BMW Championship in 2025, is paired with Fitzpatrick for the first two rounds, teeing off at 2:33 p.m. EDT on Thursday. The field at Bellerive, a 7,448-yard, par-70 layout designed by Robert Trent Jones, will face a demanding test. The course previously hosted the 2018 PGA Championship, won by Brooks Koepka, and features several long par-4 holes and challenging par-3s that will demand precise iron play.
