Blur to Shut Website and End New Blend Loan Matching
Blur plans to shut its website frontend on November 12, 2026, and stop matching new loans through its Blend lending protocol, while saying its onchain marketplace will remain operational. The company said borrowers with outstanding Blend loans must repay them by the cutoff or allow them to default. Blur also plans to provide a frontend tool after November 12 to help users withdraw assets from Blend. The announcement does not explain why the changes are being made. The planned closure removes Blur’s current user-facing website, but does not itself mean the underlying marketplace contracts will stop functioning. The company has not specified whether another interface will replace the site or detailed how users will access listings and other marketplace functions after the cutoff. Continued operation of the onchain marketplace does not, on its own, establish that users will have convenient access to it. Borrowers with open positions face a more immediate deadline: they must review their loan terms and collateral and decide whether to repay or accept the default process by November 12.
