BlackBerry Raises Fiscal 2027 Guidance on QNX Growth

BlackBerry reported fiscal second-quarter revenue of about $163 million, up 26% from a year earlier, and raised its fiscal 2027 revenue and adjusted EBITDA guidance. The company said record sales at its QNX embedded-software business helped drive the quarter, while licensing revenue also came in higher than expected. BlackBerry reported adjusted earnings of 7 cents per share. QNX revenue reached a record $80 million, an increase of 27% year over year, and exceeded the company’s guidance range. Chief Executive John Giamatteo said the quarter marked another step in building profitable growth. The company also reported $29 million in operating cash flow and its sixth consecutive quarter of positive GAAP net income. For fiscal 2027, BlackBerry raised its company-wide revenue outlook to $616 million to $636 million and its adjusted EBITDA forecast to $141 million to $158 million. It also projected adjusted earnings per share of 19 to 22 cents and operating cash flow of about $115 million. The outlook combines stronger expectations for QNX and licensing with a lower revenue forecast for Secure Communications.
