BitMEX Co-Founder Donates 4 Million to Reform UK

BitMEX cofounder Ben Delo has made a second substantial donation of 4 million to Nigel Farage's Reform UK, bringing his total contributions to the party this year to 8 million. Electoral Commission records published on September 3 revealed the latest tranche, which accounted for approximately 75% of the party's total private donations for the second quarter of 2026. The 4 million donation was structured as two cash payments made in April: 1 million on April 17 and 3 million on April 30. These contributions, along with earlier donations of 2 million on January 14 and 2 million on March 2, establish Delo as the party's second-largest financial backer in 2026. He is surpassed only by Christopher Harborne, who has reportedly contributed between 12 million and 15 million since the last general election. Delo, a 42-year-old British cofounder of the cryptocurrency derivatives exchange BitMEX, previously announced his initial 4 million commitment in an opinion piece published in April, marking his first public foray into political engagement. He stated his support was a response to what he described as a "regime of nonsense perpetuated by UK elites.
