Bitcoin Suisse to cut up to 60 Swiss jobs in international restructuring

Bitcoin Suisse, a Swiss cryptocurrency financial services firm, plans to eliminate up to 60 of its approximately 120 positions in Switzerland as part of a major international restructuring. The company announced the proposed cuts, which could affect half of its Swiss workforce, as it shifts back-office, administrative, and software development functions to lower-cost international hubs. The affected roles will be consolidated at the company's existing hub in Bratislava, Slovakia, and a new planned location in Vietnam. As part of this operational realignment, Bitcoin Suisse will also close its IT development office in Copenhagen, ending its presence in Denmark. The company has not disclosed the exact location, opening date, or investment details for the planned Vietnamese hub. A mandatory staff consultation period under Swiss law is currently underway and will conclude on September 20, 2026. Final decisions on the number and distribution of affected positions will be made after this process ends. Under Swiss regulations, affected employees can submit proposals during the consultation that could reduce or prevent dismissals.
