Binance to launch 24/7 dollar-real perpetual contract

Published 20 September 2026

Binance is set to launch a perpetual futures contract tracking the U.S. dollar against the Brazilian real, marking the cryptocurrency exchange's latest expansion into the traditional foreign exchange derivatives market. The USDBRLUSDT contract, which will be settled in the Tether stablecoin, is scheduled to begin trading on September 21, according to a company announcement. The new product will offer traders up to 100x leverage, allowing them to control a position worth 100 times the amount of collateral committed. Unlike traditional futures with a set expiration date, perpetual contracts have no fixed expiry, enabling traders to hold positions indefinitely as long as they meet margin requirements and pay or receive funding charges. A key feature of the contract is its 24/7 trading capability, designed to operate even when institutional foreign exchange markets are closed for weekends and public holidays. To achieve this, Binance has implemented a dual pricing system. During standard FX trading hours, the contract's index price will be calculated using a weighted group of third-party market data providers.
