Biden: Prostate cancer radiation worked

Former President Joe Biden issued an update on his health Tuesday, stating that radiation treatment for his prostate cancer "worked as intended." The 83-year-old former president marked Prostate Cancer Awareness Month with a statement shared on X, formerly Twitter, noting the personal significance of the occasion. Biden revealed that by the time his prostate cancer was diagnosed in May 2025, it had already spread to his bones. He underwent radiation and hormone therapy starting in October 2025, following a skin cancer surgery in September 2025. The former president stated that the radiation treatment from the fall of 2025 "worked as intended" and that he "continue[s] to do the things I care about, like finishing my memoir." His memoir, "Promise Me, America," is slated for release after the November midterm elections. Biden also used the update to encourage men to discuss prostate cancer screening with their doctors, particularly highlighting that Black men are at a higher risk for the disease.
