Ben McKenzie open to The O.C. revival

Actor Ben McKenzie has expressed openness to a potential revival of the hit teen drama "The O.C.," stating he would be "up for it" under the right circumstances. The comments, made during a radio interview, come as other cast members have recently hinted at or discussed the possibility of a reunion for the series, which originally aired from 2003 to 2007. McKenzie, who played the lead role of Ryan Atwood, discussed the idea during an appearance on the Australian radio station KIIS 1065 on Friday, September 4, 2026. When asked if he would consider returning to the show, possibly in a role similar to Peter Gallagher's character Sandy Cohen, McKenzie responded affirmatively. "I don't know that there has ever been serious talks, but I'd be up for it," he said. "Yeah, I think so, under the right circumstances. It was a great show. We had a great time. I learned a lot. I was so young. We were all young." He also expressed enthusiasm for the idea, at one point saying, "Let's make it happen!" The actor, now 47, noted that the show has found a new audience with younger viewers. He mentioned that his 10-year-old child, whom he shares with actress Morena Baccarin, enjoyed the series.
