Ben Gvir Unveils Plan to Remove Palestinians From Gaza

Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir on Thursday, September 3, 2026, unveiled a detailed plan for the large-scale removal of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, a proposal he has named "Disengagement 710." The plan, which Ben Gvir described as a central demand for his Jewish Power party to join any future coalition government, outlines a phased process to relocate the territory's population over seven years. According to the proposal, the first phase would involve the departure of 250,000 Palestinians within the initial year. This would be followed by the relocation of 1.11 million people within three years, culminating in the removal of approximately 1.86 million Palestinians by the end of the seven-year period. Ben Gvir stated the plan is "realistic" and claimed there are countries ready to accept Gazans, though he did not name them. He also referenced the late Israeli lawmaker Rehavam Zeevi, who advocated for similar population transfers, saying, "It's time to admit it, Gandhi was right!" The announcement came one day after Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz stated that the removal of Palestinians was the only viable long-term solution for Gaza.
