Belichick denies girlfriend has role in UNC football

Published 17 September 2026

Bill Belichick has publicly denied that his girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, has any official role in the University of North Carolina football program, calling the narrative that she is attempting to manage the team "ridiculous" and a "flat-out lie." In an interview with The Wall Street Journal published on September 17, 2026, the 74-year-old head coach addressed months of speculation surrounding the 25-year-old's involvement with his professional life. Belichick explained that the controversy stemmed from a misunderstanding of an email he sent shortly after being hired in December 2024. At the time, he was managing multiple media commitments, including television shows, a radio program, and a book release. He asked UNC communications staff to forward requests for his personal appearances to Hudson so she could coordinate them outside the university. "That was leaked as released as Jordon's involved in every single thing that I do and she's copied on every email. That's just a flat-out lie," Belichick stated. A UNC spokesperson confirmed to the Journal that Hudson has no football responsibilities with the university.
